ATAVUS

ATAVUS boasts one of the most exciting staying pedigrees in Australasia, combining the proven classic influence of Tarzino with the exceptional broodmare sire More Than Ready.

By Tarzino, the Victoria Derby (Gr.1) winner and one of New Zealand’s premier classic stallions, ATAVUS follows the same successful genetic cross as Willydoit, the recent New Zealand Derby (Gr.1) winner. Both horses are by Tarzino and are out of mares by More Than Ready, a cross that has already produced elite Group One staying success. Willydoit

This is no coincidence. More Than Ready has developed into one of the world’s most influential broodmare sires, renowned for adding quality, athleticism and versatility while crossing exceptionally well with classic stallions. His daughters have produced elite performers across Australia and New Zealand, with the Tarzino–More Than Ready cross already proving itself at the highest level.

ATAVUS’s female family is equally outstanding. His second dam, Secover, has produced Listed winner Landlocked, while the family traces back to Christmas Spirit, one of Australia’s great foundation mares. From this remarkable family have emerged an extraordinary list of Group winners and elite sires, including:

Thorn Park – Champion sire and multiple Group One winner.

Bentley Biscuit – Three-time Group One winner.

World Peace – Group Three winner and producer of stakes performers.

Peaceful – Stakes-winning juvenile.

Lux Libertas – Group Two winner.

Rain Drum – Group Two winner.

Presenting – Stakes winner.

Stormy (Five Elements) – Group Two winner.

Numerous additional Listed and Group performers throughout Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and South Africa.

With Tarzino consistently producing elite staying horses such as Willydoit, Gypsy Goddess, Jungle Magnate, Immediacy and Torranzino, ATAVUS possesses the exact pedigree profile buyers seek in a horse capable of developing into a high-class middle-distance and staying performer.

The evidence is compelling: ATAVUS carries the same proven Tarzino × More Than Ready cross that has already produced a New Zealand Derby winner, backed by one of the deepest and most successful female families in the Australasian Stud Book. His pedigree is built for stamina, class and long-term success.
