TAURANGA RACE 6 — FREE BIRD

A very promising staying mare by Tarzino who was successful at her first start over ground last preparation.
She returns a much more mature and furnished mare this time around, and I expect her to take another significant step forward. I have a big opinion of her and believe she has the potential to develop into a serious staying performer this season.
TAURANGA RACE 7 — SARTI

He’s let me down at his last couple of starts, but there are plenty of reasons to expect a much-improved performance.
He returns to Tauranga, a track where he’s already tasted success, and the astute Kelso stable has applied the blinkers.
His previous form at this course is particularly encouraging. He ticks plenty of boxes and looks ready to produce something much closer to his best.
FLEMINGTON RACE 8 — GROUP 1 VICTORIA DERBY

I feel this fellow is still learning his craft, and the wide-open spaces of Flemington should suit him beautifully.
The step up to 2500m looks right up his alley. He’s a developing stayer with plenty of upside, and I expect the longer journey to bring out another level in him.
A fascinating Derby contender who could be considerably better than we’ve seen so far.
